I will start off this blog by saying that I am proud of myself for completing a full week at my internship site. Compared to school, an internship is very different. With an internship it is a lot of working by yourself, learning to figure things out on my own, and getting things done by the deadline. A work week goes like this for my internship: Instead of getting up early; I get there around noon, I get my assignments for the day and I begin my working for the whole day. Unlike the school day I don't get to interact as often with teenagers my own age, I interact with adults instead. I also have to manage my time making sure that I don't take too long on any assignment. The responsibilities are very similar because despite it not being graded, it still has to have a good amount of effort put into it.
Internship has influence the direction in my life by making me feel that I should intern at more places even after this internship ends because I have learned many skills during this internship that will help me during my future career. It also has made me figure out that I have multiple back up plans as jobs in the future that I can do; for example, I can still be a writer and work on advertisements and marketing during that. From internship to school I can bring my now more focused work effort (because before I was focused, but got distracted easily), but now realizing that the environment I work best in is when it's quiet and has a peaceful environment I get things done without the noise or distraction. I can also bring back what I learned about computers (using word press and making blogs and using different websites for advertising) into school for when it's needed. Overall, I feel when I go back to school for the new semester I will be able to keep up and get things done at a faster rate than I would have before.
