Hatchet
In the book Hatchet by Gary Paulsen, is about a boy who gets in a airplane accident and suddenly ends up in the forest trying to survive by learning new techniques. He soon decides to use his hatchet that his mother gave him before he went onto the airplane at the airport. He soon becomes someone that can't be alone in the forest to someone that can survive on his own and hold his own. The secret he mentions often is his mother cheating on his father with another man, which he keeps to himself and never mentions it to his father. The reason he ended up in the forest was because the pilot had a heart attack and died while flying the plane. Toward the end he was found, but instead of being excited to go home he offers food showing how much he has grown. In my opinion this book was interesting because he had grown just by surviving in the forest which is admirable to me.
